Art Jewelry Forum is now accepting submissions for its 15th annual Artist Award.

Art Jewelry Forum is now accepting submissions for its 15th annual Artist Award. Ambitious artists under age 35 have until November 15, 2015, to apply for this international prize in contemporary art jewelry, which includes $7500 US for the winner and an exhibition at Schmuck in March 2016 for the five finalists.

The purpose of the Art Jewelry Forum's (AJF) Artist Award  is to acknowledge promise, innovation, and individuality in the work of an artist who is early in his or her career, and to help advance the career of a promising artist. The award consists of an unrestricted cash award of $7,500.
The competition is open to makers of wearable art jewelry who are 35 years of age or under at the time of application deadline (Nov. 15, 2015) and who are not currently enrolled in a professional training program.  Work submitted must have been made within the past two years and without supervision; work from BFA / MFA shows may NOT be submitted. Applicants who applied previously for the award must submit new work in the current application; that is, work submitted in a prior AJF Artist Award application may not be resubmitted in the current application.

Juried by distinguished professionals in the field, this year’s panel will be: Philip Clarke, inaugural director of Objectspace, Auckland, New Zealand’s renowned public gallery for contemporary craft and design; the winner of the 2014 Artist Award, internationally recognized artist Seulgi Kwon, and AJF board member and collector Susan Kempin.
The AJF Artist Award acknowledges promise, innovation, and individuality, advancing the careers of rising artists. Makers of wearable art jewelry 35 years of age or under who are not currently enrolled in a professional training program are encouraged to apply. Submitted work must have been made within the past two years and without supervision.
