As part of Gray Street Workshops 30 year celebrations Calendar Girls is a year long program of monthly features showcasing the work and practice of twelve individual Gray Street alumni and culminating in an exhibition of new work by all twelve artists in March 2016 as part of the Fringe Festival.

Artist list

Julie Blyfield, Lisa Furno, Kath Inglis, Nicole Jacquard, Kelly Jonasson, Lynn Kelly, Erin Keys, Leslie Matthews, Tiffany Parbs, Lauren Simeoni, Michelle Taylor, Leonie Westbrook
Artist invited to participate in this project range from emerging through mid career to established practitioners. They have been selected because of their individual approaches to concepts, materials and techniques and the vibrancy and merit of their work.
The invited artists from Australia and overseas will be asked to provide text (in response to a series of questions) about their creative practice and images of new work. An invitation will also be extended to the ‘artist of the month’ to give an artist talk at the workshop, the artist talks will be scheduled for the first Friday of the month.
To capture an often over looked aspect of the making process; the detail and intimacy of time, each artist will be provided with a time-lapse camera (on loan) to document an aspect of their practice of their choice.
The text, images and time-lapse photography will be featured on Gray Street Workshop’s website, Facebook page and related industry sites such as Klimt02 from March 2015 to March 2016.
In March 2016 to coincide with the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival we will host an exhibition of new works by all twelve artists, an edited compilation of the time-lapse photographs will be shown.

Opening: Thursday 3rd March from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
