Intro
I selected these artists because I am interested in how they manipulated their materials and how their use of color helps convey their personal interests and ideologies. / Eliana Arenas

Eliana Arenas is the guest curator for this exhibition of contemporary art jewelry showcasing the use of explosive color and non-traditional materials.

Through color, texture and an interest in materiality - transforming the quotidian and therefore the perception of value - every piece conveys a concept of sustainability, energy, commonality and visual imagery. The range of colors are enigmatic and engaging, says Arenas. Look for evidence of repurposed skateboards, Velcro, and X-Ray film.

Arenas continues: I invite you to take a closer look at the textures in the jewelry: smooth, soft, rough - we can all relate to these evocative materials. Perhaps they remind you of a past event? Color, however, is dominant, showcasing bright and playful work that is extremely fun to wear.
