Intro
The actuall discussion during my presentations are mostly in the understanding of "contemporary" and how I bring my ideas, thoughts and put the "soul" into my own creation. I am interested by the question how globalization influences creative disciplines throughout the world, as well as how to develope it on different culture basement.

Jie Sun
Through the lectures, contemporary jewellery has introduced on a comprehensive scale in the east-side of China with much attention. The hardcore of this tour is to explore the developments and situation in the field of contemporary jewellery with its education in China, at the same time, contributed to contemporary thinking on jewellery and on the meaning of its international development. In general audiences were very passionated and excited.

The actuall discussion during my presentations are mostly in the understanding of "contemporary" and how I bring my ideas, thoughts and put the "soul" into my own creation. I am interested by the question how globalization influences creative disciplines throughout the world, as well as how to develope it on different culture basement. Through this tour, I emphasis multidisciplinary approach, since I believe that the future is in multidisciplinary global collaborations.

Exploration outcome:
1. Culture Background:
Beyond Chinese culture experienced the historical path over 4000years with lots of culture treasures. This land has became a harmony of 56 distinct ethnic groups ( 55 minorities in addition to the Han majority), 74 official ethnicities belong to at least 9 families spoken language ( besides of official national spoken language Mandarin). However, there was little attempt by Chinese authors to separate the concepts of nationality, ethnicity and culture. The concept of Chinese culture features a big diversity of cultural heritage, customs and traditions together, with its components include literature, music, visual arts, martial arts, cuisine, religion etc.

2. "Jewellery" on Chinese history:
Historically, the earliest relation between jewellery and the culture date from the Warring States period (501BC-221BC), were subject to many particularly visible code, not only as showcase of wealth and power, but rather than revealed the social position of the man. According to (220BC), the definition of the word "Jewellery" ( Shou Shi 首饰 in Chinese ) means only the head-wear of Man, until the golden age of Chinese history-Dang Dynasty(618-907BC), the meaning of word "jewellery" extend to all the ornaments relate to body of both male and female. However, the wearing ornaments were strictly divided off between civil and court, either in the material, design form or in the subject matter, both have strict limits by its rank restrictions and reflect the man’s identity and social status, trends and cultural change in China since ancient time.

Education situation:
Higher education in China is continuously growing, changing and developing. In 2011, there were over 900 higher education institutions (university level). There are around 350 higher education institutions offer the degree education under the subject of art/design (according to Higher Education Database 2013). Only slightly around 10 institutions have its own jewellery department. However, there are much more institutions interesting in developing the sense of contemporary thinking on jewellery into own education system, divided into the direction of artistic/visual arts, fashion, metalsmith&traditional craft, industry, geological, culture Heritage.

4. Market & Industry:
According to the“China Jewellery Industry Report, 2012-2013”, China is the fastest-growing market for jewellery in the world, has its own jewellery industry (second largest of the world). It is expected that by 2020, the country will become the largest global jewellery consumption market. The total sales of China's jewellery industry developed at an annual growth rate of more than 15 percent in recent years. “I think the Chinese market is much more sophisticated than the West understands, there are many discerning people who seek for pieces specially designed and made for them by good designers. And China is such a huge market, the same as four times Europe, so you have to look at it in a number of ways.” Theo Fennell, Published on August, 2013 The New York Times. However, the good designers are needed.

Over the past few years, the China's culture and creative industry is in a stage of rapid development. There are more than three thousand cultural centers, museums, creative districts, concert halls built (being build) up across the entire country by the Chinese government, Numerous cultural events( design weeks, art fairs, conferences.etc) are organized in an effort to put culture on the country's map. This growing appetite of creative industry for jewellery has contributed to the continuous growth in jewellery creative communities, not only to the education, institutions, publications, industries, but also the huge consumption market demand of holding this creative supply.
