Evert Nijland represented by Galerie Rob Koudijs

Published: 24.01.2011

Galerie Rob Koudijs is very pleased to announce that from now on we will representing the work of Evert Nijland.

His jewellery is already available in the gallery and will be shown at the art fairs OBJECT in Rotterdam and COLLECT in London. The introduction of this artist in the gallery will be in June in the FrontRoom of our gallery. On this occasion we will show a small retrospective and a new wall installation.

Ever since his first exhibition in 1997, Evert Nijland has surprised his audiences by making jewellery based on classic vernacular and executed in the most orthodox materials. Effortless Nijland manages to integrate a multitude of craft techniques. Because of his fascination for the effects of light, glass has become a mayor element in his work. His jewellery is in the collections of numerous museums like the V&A in London and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art in Britain, the Houston's Museum of Fine Arts, the MAD Museum and the Mint Museum in the USA and the Schmuckmuseum in Germany; it has also been acquired by many leading Dutch museums. His work is also ardently sought after by private collectors.
Evert Nijland is teaching at Gerrit Rietveld Academy and gives lectures and masterclasses all over the world.
