Gallery Loupe holds event to Support Ovarian Cancer Research

Published: 30.08.2012

Gallery Loupe, the premiere art jewelry gallery in the metropolitan New York area, will host a fundraising event in September to support the Mathilda Fund, an organization focused on ovarian cancer research.

The gallery has commissioned, for the second year, a special limited edition brooch in honor of the Mathilda Fund. This year's brooch is designed by internationally recognized goldsmith Pat Flynn. The brooch will be available with either a sterling silver or 18K gold ribbon and will be offered exclusively at the gallery on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30, 2012 with all proceeds going to the Mathilda Fund. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from all sales that weekend will be donated to the Mathilda fund. Brooches may be ordered by email and phone.

About the Matilda Fund
Jane Rubin, author of Almost a Princess: My Life as a Two-Time Cancer Survivor, is Director of Neuroscience for Atlantic Health System. The Matilda Fund was established in honor of her great-grandmother, who died of cancer before the research advances of the modern era. Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among American women. The Matilda Fund is dedicated to supporting research to discover a cure, with all donations supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). All royalties from purchase of Almost a Princess are also donated to the Fund.
