Intro
Within the framework of the Enjoia’t contemporary jewellery awards, this workshop seeks to experiment with jewellery as an expansive agent of bodies and corporealities, urging us to adopt the multi-species perspective of philosopher Donna Haraway.

Blur the lines between the human and the non-human, the organic and the artificial, to generate new symbiotic relationships between design, jewellery, and technology. Additionally, the workshop integrates biomaterials to incorporate MATERFAD’s commitment to the research of new forms of materiality, reinforcing the vision of materials as active agents in the creation of new horizons.

To transform the social, aesthetic and moral codes of our difficult present in order to transfigure them into a hopeful future, we need to get rid of the essentialist human-animal-machine divide. By investigating the connotations of jewellery in various contexts and highlighting its ability to connect bodies to each other and to the environment, ‘Prosthetic Agents’ transgresses the boundaries of the discipline to explore the image of the cyborg.

The intersectional approach of the workshop allows for symbiotic bridging and new affinities between diverse fields and research.

The workshop, organised by A-FAD and MATERFAD, will count with the collaboration of the Umanesimo Artificiale and Bruixes Lab collectives.

When:
29.11.24 - 01.12.24.
from 11:00 to 19:00 h.
