Art Edition
Limited edition of the book Lapis, presented on a cardboard box including a brooch made out of silver, grinded minerals and resin. The publication shows the series of works Lapis where the artist creates his own 'raw materials' to make the work.
Publication that shows the series Lapis where the artist creates his own 'raw materials' to make the work. Ruudt Peters moves under the influence of human creating act as mirroring God's creation, in a mystic path between chemistry and alchemistry, behind the track of the Holy Grail and the Philosopher's Stone.
In 1998 Ruudt designed an installation for his ‘Lapis’ collection at Gallery Spektrum in Munich. The white laboratory coats served as a background, and were there to emphasize the artificial, alchemistic nature of the stones. The stones of the Lapis jewellery were made by grinding minerals to powder, than mixing it with a substance and casting it in moulds of different stones.
Texts: Dutch, English, German.
Catalogue + Jewel made out of resin, mineral powder and silver in a cardboard box.
Box size: 16 x 12 x 5 cm.
