Intro
ElTaller de Joyeria de Barcelona is a space to develop and experiment with different jewellery techniques. We do this through a wide range of dynamic, practical courses based on experience and dialogue. Educate the senses and sensitivity. Get down to work. Develop techniques to give form to the imagination. School currently located in the industrial area of Poble Nou in Barcelona.

Statement

ElTaller de Joyeria de Barcelona was founded in 1998 by jeweller Jaime Díaz. It is one of the first workshop schools in the Catalonian capital. After over twenty years of extensive experience in a variety of jewellery workshops, Jaime Díaz decided to set up his own school to teach the fundamental techniques of jewellery. His key philosophy is to remain true to what he sees as the essence of the jeweller's workshop.

It's a place where technique and self-expression meet. ElTaller is a school where you can gain knowledge, techniques and resources to solve real problems. It is a place where you can learn to explore your personal ideas and feelings. Our proposal is to turn any idea into reality, learning to think and to make our own tools. Once we have a good command of the techniques, jewellery becomes an interior journey in search of creativity and a medium of pure expression. The classes are personalised in a friendly atmosphere with a maximum of 10 people per group. It is possible for the students to combine the school's technical programme with their own projects, acquiring the necessary techniques and resources to develop and create their future pieces well.

The students have all the facilities of the school at their disposal: classroom, workshop with 10 individual jeweller's benches, specialised rooms for hammering and casting, equipped with a wide range of machinery and tools. At all times student autonomy is encouraged and supported in relation to the jewellery workshop and the proper use of the
machinery and tools. We also have a small patio with plants where you can go outside and take a break.

Our courses are aimed both at professionals in the sector who need to increase  their knowledge of specific techniques and newcomers who have never studied jewellery before. The classes are totally personalised and, although we work in a shared space, the teacher follows the development of each student individually. In this way, you don't need to be in a specific group and you can choose your start date. The teachers of the school can give the classes in English.
