Maden is a contemporary jewellery studio that considers jewellery as “wearable art” and intends to convey this concept to participants with technical and conceptual courses. It also aims to improve the field of contemporary jewellery in Turkey.

Situated in Galata/Kuledibi, one of the most historical and energetic quarters of the European side of İstanbul, Maden is founded by Selen Özus and Burcu Büyükünal in 2011. Selen and Burcu are willing to share their international jewelry education (*Selen Özus graduated from Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Italy and Burcu Büyükünal graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz / Metal in USA.) and experience with the participants.

Maden defends creative and critical thinking, and believes in the value of ideas as well as materials. For this reason, it encourages participants to work with any material within the range of precious and non-precious that works for conveying ideas and feelings through jewellery.
