Trained as a graphic designer and printmaker, Biba Schutz has been a practicing, self-taught metal smith and jeweler for more than 20 years. She is well known for combining unexpected materials with metal in her work. In 2012, she began incorporating glass into her jewelry designs and was the recipient of an Artist Residency at The Corning Museum of Glass in the spring of 2014. Schutz’s works can be found in public and private collections around the world including the Racine Art Museum, Racine, WI; Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, the Newark Museum of Art Art, New Jersey, Boston’s Museum of Fine Art and the Corning Museum of Glass. She currently lives and works in New York City.
