Under this title, the international exhibition brings together historical teaching materials from Pforzheim University as a starting point for new creative works.
Materia prima – the ›first matter refers to the malleable raw material from which new things are created through processing. The exhibition venues – which include not only the Jewellery Museum and the Technical Museum but also the Pforzheim Art Association – become sites of transformation: rings, enamel works, plaster casts, fabric samples, glass slides, gemstones, electrotypes, reference works and books serve as sources of inspiration and raw materials. International artists are taking these collections out of their original didactic context and transforming them into new constellations. Participants include Claudia Angelmaier, Philipp Goldbach, Ilana Halperin, Annegret Kellner, Marcel Odenbach, Diana Scherer and other international artists.
Regular Opening Hours
Changed – until further notice, Wednesdays through Sundays and holidays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
The Jewellery Museum will be closed on Easter Monday, 6 April.
