Silversmithing is the craft of shaping silver into functional objects, art pieces or jewellery. It’s more than just a skill. It’s a process of learning, experimenting, and refining. This craft aligns with a growing appreciation for traditional skills and a desire for quality and authenticity. Craftsmanship offers a counterbalance to modern fast-paced production, emphasising the importance of taking time and focusing on sustainability.

There is a workshop for beginners (3 days) and one for advanced participants (6 days). Are you looking for a new hobby, hoping to develop your skills, or simply eager to create something unique? This workshop offers you the opportunity to grow as a maker and take home a self-crafted silver object.

What you’ll learn:
This workshop allows you to experience the precision and patience required to craft your own silver piece. You’ll have access to a variety of tools and materials, with personal guidance from an experienced silversmith.
  • Beginners will learn the basic techniques, working with a hammer and anvil.
  • Advanced participants will develop their own designs, exploring new techniques and experimenting with creative ideas.

Instructor:
Silversmith Max Gielis, known for his work with Gijs Bakker and Koen Wijngaerden, will lead the workshop. He combines demonstrations, personal guidance and creative problem-solving.

Disclaimer:
Do you need to cancel? Up to two weeks (14 days) before the start of the workshop you will pay € 50 administration costs. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start date of the workshop, you will owe the full amount. You can propose a substitute. The organiser has the right to cancel the workshop in the event of too few (paying) registrations or force majeure circumstances. In this case you will receive a full refund.
