A contemporary jewelry show that one absolutely shouldn’t miss in 2015? That would most certainly be the exhibition of “artists’ jewels” featuring pieces owned by French collector Diane Venet. It is to take place from Feb. 8 to April 12, 2015 in Venice in the splendid Palazzo Nani Mocenigo in the VITRARIA Glass +A Museum, which was inaugurated in September 2014. There are 161 jewels in the entire collection. Not many people know that some of the most important contemporary artists – including Picasso, Damien Hirst, Lucio Fontana, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Yoko Ono and Man Ray just to name a few – were not only painters or sculptors but also tried their hands at creating jewels.
