Statement
Jewelry, for me, is a form of sculpture—an art form that goes beyond decoration. The main focus of my work are finger rings, as they emphasize the hand as a space of expression. The hand is both a tool for creation and a sculptural entity in itself, embodying function and serving as an object of aesthetic admiration. It also plays a significant role in expressing human emotions.
Though static on the phalanx, the rings become an integral part of the body’s movement.
I am fascinated by the playful potential of jewelry: it can be perceived as a composition, a decoration, or something that influences the way the body moves. Jewelry can imitate objects or create entirely new forms. It can define space, reveal or conceal the skin.
I enjoy the playfulness of mixed media in relation to jewelry. By combining precious metals with more everyday objects or materials, I create collages that incorporate elements of drawing, tattooing, or stitching. I explore the contrasts between hard, static materials like silver and soft materials like leather and fabric.
