His works contain that u n n a m e a b l e – that provides a kind of magical distance, mystery, nameless might, holiness. I am staggered by Noam Ben-Jacov’s dynamic restlessness when he purposefully marches towards his destination in snowfall, wearing his sandals. Directly or indirectly
This book gives a broad overview of Noam ben-Jacov's work .
Most of the work is from the year 2000 onwards, with a small view back to earlier works. Central to the book is the process and development of his ideas.
*Noam’s work is made using different media: reliefs, sketches, installations, body-related sculptures and performance; at times crossing over into choreography/ theater, when much emphasis placed on the relationship between Body & object.
Kadri Mälk
Tallinn, August 2007 (translated by - Tiina Randviir)
Writing contributions by:
Kadri Mälk (head of department jewellery & blacksmithing, Estonian Academy of Arts ), Marja Bon (pianist), Bennie Bartels (dancer), Noam Ben-Jacov
