Their two approaches of jewelry could not be more apart. When wearability has always been of primal concern for Daniel, Lisa explores the limits of unwearability. And yet, tradition, craft and color have a strong presence in both of their works.
Artist list
Daniel Kruger, Lisa Walker
The gallery is pleased to announce the first exhibition bringing together works by Daniel Kruger and Lisa Walker in one show.
Back in 2007 when the gallery opened, the very first artist we wanted to work with was Lisa Walker. When we called her she said "Call me back in a year". So we did, and since then the gallery is on a mission to put a piece by Lisa Walker on everyone!
The exhibition features small metal pieces dating back from 1993, together with new reworked silver pieces, alongside her famous current colorful glue work.
On the other hand, Daniel Kruger is one of the last artists the gallery started to work with. It has been an intense collaboration ever since, an on-going discovery of his current works and his archive, both as a jeweler and a ceramicist.
Daniel worked with ceramic in the short period between 1985 to early 2000. Biscuit, celadon, abstract, figurative and erotic, the result is as diverse and surprising as his jewelry.
