As every year since 1985, and now for the 40th anniversary of its activities, LAO opens its doors for the traditional appointment with the end-of-year exhibition, on Thursday, June 25, from 7:00 PM onwards, at the school premises.
The event represents the culmination of a year of intense research and creativity, an occasion to appreciate the talent of the students and master artisans of the school.
The exhibition journey narrates the evolution and personal growth of the students across the different disciplines, balancing the charm of traditional techniques and contemporary research.
Visitors will be able to admire a selection of works created within the different specialisations of the school, which testify to the comprehensive nature of LAO's educational offer: jewellery-making pieces, objects originating from the individual creativity of the students of the most prestigious courses led by Giò Carbone; Engraving and stone-setting exercises, crafts typical of the Florentine goldsmith tradition, with the best master artisans of the city; unique and creative projects developed during the jewellery design classes, together with CAD projects for 3D printing created under the guidance of Jasmina Carbone; prototypes created through wax modelling and subsequent investment casting, and the chromatic experimentation of artistic enamels.
This year will also feature the work of scholarship recipients from The Place Of Wonders Foundation, established to support and pass on excellence in haute craftsmanship, alongside the jewellery prototypes commissioned from LAO students by the organising committee of the Casato Prime Donne award of the Donatella Cinelli Colombini estate in Montalcino.
The exhibition will also showcase the results of the long-standing collaboration with students from the Fondazione Studio Marangoni photography school, who have interpreted the jewellery through their lenses.
The evening will provide a unique opportunity to celebrate this major milestone and to visit, for those who do not yet know it, this extraordinary contemporary workshop hidden in the heart of Florence.
