Intro
Leonor Hipólito will present at Reverso, her exhibition called Überstein on the 4th of April. Series resulting from a residency in the German city Idar-Oberstein, working in the jewellery and gemstone lab from the University of Applied Sciences-Trier.

Artist list

Leonor Hipólito
Apparatus
Reproductions of medical tools out of tree trunks and branches. Each piece had been planned and shaped after the natural forms existing. Apparatus, from 2007, reinforces the idea of cooperation between the human knowledge, his intelligence and criativity, and the natural world; the importance of being aware of his own acts to find unity within the delicate and subtle state of balance.

Fragments
Series of samples available within its conjunt for a game of self-knowledge. A game that might challenge the idea we conceive about what forms and bounds us. The different pieces, looking like fragments of an anatomical model, are loose and lacking a contextual background - the body of those who will wear them.

This series was realized between the years of 2007 and 2008.

überstein
Series resulting from a residency in the German city Idar-Oberstein, working in the jewelry and gemstone lab from the University of Applied Sciences-Trier, during the summer 2008. This group of works traces the portrait of the very particular experience.

Together with the work, the book überstein will be launched.
