Memories of a Road Trip

On a hike in the mountains reclining by the coast we slowly made our way trough the morning fog. Reaching the line where sun hits cloud, we were surprised by the magic view over the ocean. We collected amazing rocks, shimmering in green and blue. I wrapped them in my shirt to carry them all the way back to the car.
Camping by the sea, the gigantic ancient forests gave us comfort and protection from the rest of the world and fed our fantasies about bears and mountain lions. Collecting bundles of driftwood at the beach, we were rewarded with a fire burning stranded wood from all over the world, united flames of America.
Everything is bigger here. I find gigantic shells at the seaside. A shell is a spoon and a rock is a cellphone, it never rings.
The car radio is on while we drive through mountain villages and costal cities, witnessing how fast civilization ate itself into the ancient landscapes and took over holy land from the natives.
We speed up and find ourselves in a fantastic wonderland, everything seems possible here if you can read the signs.
