On Thursday 8th May the artist Marigo Kasi is going to present the installation “the persistence of spring” at eleni marneri galerie!

Hundreds of paper flowers are going to bloom in the space of the gallery giving off a sense of an unexpected optimism . She says: 
"Flowers are symbols of beauty and spring. For me, they are also a symbol of joy, tenderness, frail and transient. From time to time I have been using them in different ways, like the flowers from pieces of cloth in the exhibition "After goodbye" or in floral tapestry as a canvass with pastel or ink in others. In my last personal exhibition "Two x" in 2009, the paper made flowers were lighted in small closets, symbols of romance and love.
Now, hundreds of paper flowers swinging in the space, are my only material of installation.I felt this piece of work as a celebration of the joy of life and the revival of nature.
A joy that comes after the hard times,like the spring which always returns.sooner or later, bringing smile,hope,euphoria and the anticipation of the oncoming summer."
 
Like a trusty friend,as Manolis Anagnostakis mentions in his poem "When a spring":

          than any love and your love
          my old friend...
