Thierry Bontridder
The Museum de l’Orfèvrerie at the Château de Seneffe serves both as a contemporary showcase for the creations of today’s silversmithing artists and as a witness to the evolution of the craft and its techniques. It is a place of discovery and artistic encounters that fosters connections with all audiences, offering a new perspective on art and culture.
This exhibition explores the function of jewelry, whether contemporary or not, its status, and its role in the society it belongs to: ethical, aesthetic, cultural, social, valuable or not.
A mediation space for families and children, a mobile app to learn more, and a “civic” approach to jewelry bring an added dimension to the exhibition.
About Thierry Bontridder
Technical precision, simple and clean geometric forms, and the interplay of light between transparency and opacity form the foundation of this designer’s work.
He wields the blowtorch like a painter uses a palette, handling unusual materials—acrylic glass, Corian, boxwood, colored glass—according to his inspirations and artistic evolution. Yet one material remains his signature: titanium.
Assembly is an essential step in the final process, allowing the jewelry to achieve lightness and fluid movement. Technical rigor becomes a poetry of pure forms, where materials are elevated and transformed. Like other contemporary jewelry designers, Thierry Bontridder breaks the codes of traditional jewelry, emphasizing the innovation embedded in these “micro-sculptures.”
Opening hours: 10h - 18h. Closed on Mondays.
The exhibition runs until the 11th November 2025.
