The 11th edition of the New Talent Award 2025 by Klimt02 aims to recognize the work of graduate students in our field by supporting their careers in the professional world. Nominated by our school members, one of the selected graduates will win the New Talents Award.
Each piece interprets emotions through symbols, fostering protection, identity, and connection, allowing wearers to transfer fears, heal insecurities, and recognize their inner essence and shared humanity.

Name of graduation student: Antonia López
Name of guiding teacher: Giulia Savino
Nominated by IED Istituto Europeo di Design
Antonia Lopez’s project stands out for its strong conceptual coherence and its ability to translate cultural heritage into a contemporary jewelry language. Through the use of wood, sculpted into unique pendants and necklaces, the student demonstrates a sensitive and confident approach to material experimentation and craftsmanship.
Drawing from pre-Columbian indigenous symbolism rooted in her Colombian origins, the collection redefines jewelry as an amuletic object, charged with emotional and spiritual meaning. Each piece functions as a sculptural talisman that can be detached from the necklace and exists independently as an object, conceived to foster protection, self-recognition, and a sense of connection between the wearer and a broader shared humanity.
The work is further distinguished by the depth of its research, the clarity of its narrative, and the balance achieved between symbolic content, formal expression, and wearability. By merging personal memory with universal themes, the project affirms jewelry as a meaningful medium for identity, ritual, and emotional exchange.

Statement of the artist:
BAGUÉ VIVE EN MÍ. MYSTIC IN SOUL, MAGICAL IN SPIRIT
Homesickness inspired a universal language of empathy. Drawing on pre-Columbian indigenous symbolism from my heritage, this project creates contemporary amulets as energetic tools. Each piece interprets emotions through symbols, fostering protection, identity, and connection, allowing wearers to transfer fears, heal insecurities, and recognize their inner essence and shared humanity.
