Significant in Bo Zhang’s work is her depth of material exploration and sensitivity for forms, resulting in essences of unexpected beauty. The natural - artificial dialectic is also a recurring theme, which in her graduation work Chameleon examines man’s relationship with nature and the artist's role as both a natural being as well as creating artifice. The painstakingly developed and executed methods reveal beautiful visual irritations that are compounded when one interacts with these light jewelry pieces. Her work testifies to a deep maturity, and her singular aesthetic and confident craftsmanship a fitting representative of the jewelry design spirit in Pforzheim.
