Pewter has a public relations problem.
Many people mistakenly think it still contains lead, and some metalsmiths fear it will ruin their silver. But for hundreds of years, pewter was everywhere—from middle-class housewares to pilgrimage souvenirs to Art Nouveau decorative arts. (*)
