From October 16 to 25, Ototo dedicates ten days to Japanese culture and tradition through OTOTO Japanese Fest - Craft & Culture, a program bringing together craft and design, gastronomy, tea and matcha, workshops, tastings, pop-ups and encounters with people who explore and practice different forms of Japanese culture. OTOTO Japanese Fest explores how culture can be discovered through objects, ingredients, gestures, materials, flavors, and rituals.
We wanted Japanese Fest to be an invitation to discover Japan through a variety of experiences: from the preparation of tea or onigiri to working with paper, wood, ceramics, and flowers; from kintsugi and calligraphy to conversations about style and minimalism. At the same time, we are very interested in bringing Japanese culture into dialogue with the local community, which is why we invited restaurants, artists, creators, and practitioners from Romania to take part in the festival, says the Ototo team.
