Artist list
Orsolya Karman
Orsolya Karman is a contemporary jewelry artist whose practice is rooted in graphic design, visual systems, and material experimentation. Holding a Master of Arts in Visual Communication from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), Budapest, and drawing on over two decades of experience as an art director, she approaches jewelry through composition, reduction, and visual logic. Working with laser-cut techniques and architecturally inspired geometric structures, her pieces translate two-dimensional graphic systems into spatial constructions activated in relation to the body.
Phenomena | 2026
A brooch series exploring optical perception through layered graphic structures. Precise graphic layers combined with transparent materials generate shifting visual effects that evolve with movement, light, and viewing angle. The pieces operate as perceptual experiments, translating interference patterns into wearable constructions that complete themselves on the body.
New Dimension | 2024–25
A collaborative collection developed in dialogue with visual artist Käthe Schönle. Schönle's layered screen-printed illustrations are translated into three-dimensional jewelry structures, retaining the visual logic of the original graphics while gaining tactile and spatial dimension through layering. The project investigates the intersection of visual art and contemporary jewelry, where graphic composition, colour interaction, and material structure converge in sculptural, wearable form.
Opening: Saturday, 16 May 2025, 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
The artist will be present.
The opening takes place as part of the Simultaneous Openings in the Miguel Bombarda area.
