“Connectades” brings together three generations of Chilean artists united by the desire to keep the human gesture alive through weaving, knotting and sewing. While “Territoris”, by Desedamas, the tandem formed by Cecília and Mercè González, claims textiles as a contemporary language in a dialogue between art, craftsmanship and design.
Artist list
Ester Chacón Ávila, Cecília González, Mercè González, Pia Kalfon, Alejandra Precht Rorris
In Connetades, Ester Chacón Ávila, Alejandra Precht Rorris and Pia Kalfon work with textile art through sculptures, tapestries, quilt art and mixed techniques, creating pieces that are born from experimentation between color and texture, guided by hands and imagination. The exhibition celebrates the connection between generations, the bond with the material and the vitality of the artisanal gesture.
At Territoris their tapestries highlight traditional crafts and knowledge of the material as the basis for a current, sensitive and emotional creation. The pieces inhabit the space, transform it and establish a direct relationship with the viewer. They are made entirely of silk and combine traditional sewing techniques with their own experimental processes.
Opening: 17th March at 18:30 h.
Visiting hours:
From Monday to Saturday: from 10 am to 8 pm.
Sundays and public holidays: from 10 am to 2 pm.
