Intro
Klasse für Schmuck und Gerät from Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, are having their graduation exhibition. This year five students are graduating. Mirei Takeuchi, Nicola Scholz, Mia Maljojoki, Akiko Kurihara and Laura Deakin.
The class for Jewellery at Akademie der Bildenden Künste has an international focus. More than half of the class of approximately 20 students come from outside of Germany, including Australia, Japan, Korea, America and New Zealand. The duration of study is limited to six years. This length of time provides a frame work for a free and open study of jewellery and jewellery making. The department meets formally once a week to discuss the work of one or two of its members. Formal and technical issues are discussed alongside ethnological, sociological and anthropological issues connected to jewellery. In individual talks with Professor Otto Künzli, assistant Karen Pontoppidan and workshop leader Matthias Moennich the discussion focuses on problem solving and the development of work.

This is the Diploma exhibition 2010 showing work by Mirei Takeuchi, Nicola Scholz, Mia Maljojoki, Akiko Kurihara and Laura Deakin.
