Let's bring together four jewelry artists that explore contemporary jewelry through large-scale photography and jewelry objects.
Artist list
Sofia Björkman, Adam Grinovich, Matt Lambert, Annika Pettersson
As jewelers we often have our audience view and experience our objects through documentation. Armed with the concept that all images are edited and that there is no true unbiased documented image each maker in this exhibition explores the potential of this built in bias and the power of editing. Through this exploration images become objects in themselves creating a dialogue with physical jewelry. This unique pop-up styled exhibition was born out of a series of conversations about extending the dialogue between jewelry, exhibition, and related fields. This then initiates a dialouge of how we consider our relationships to those that aid in our making process. When do we creatively direct, collaborate or consider it outsourcing. EDIT@editbar reflects the distinct experiences of each artist and his or her relationship to place, body, scale, gender, history, nature and value.
