Since the start of Platina in 1999 we have run a missionary for the kind of jewellery that we think matter, annoy and tickle – wearable pieces that conveys ideas about what jewellery is.
At Platina you will find gossiping jewellery that tells truths and untruths, gorgeous jewellery that fascinates, annoys and tickles, protesting jewellery, storytelling, chanting and enchanting jewellery. We have chosen each jewellery piece for their personal quality.
Moving our moving in - Restart
It’s time for PLATINA to restart and move to the beautiful and central Tegnérgatan in Stockholm.
The first 20 years, PLATINA was located at Odengatan and during the pandemic we have been located at Bondegatan. The last two years and despite the pandemic, we have been able to show a number of amazing exhibitions. Among the solo and duo exhibitions we would like to mention: Remix Resolution with Annika Pettersson in which three new projects were shown. In Gustaf Lindblom's exhibition Spacious Cubes, we saw a variety of brooches and portable subtle statements. Between colorful cliché and pandemic macramé was the title of Helena Johansson Lindell's series of necklaces in macramé that easily can be worn in for example a skate park. The exhibition Solanum was a collaboration between Elin Flognman and Sara Erkers who showed their love for everyday objects and the modest potato. In Detours, Klara Brynge exhibited landscape pendants in silver. In addition, we have shown lovely works in several group exhibitions.
Thank you to all of you who have supported in different ways. It means a lot to the gallery and the artists.
Many works have new owners and some are now in major collections, museums and institutions, and some have travelled to new exhibitions. We still have many of the works and you are more than welcome to come and have a look!
