Platina is happy to invite two international known and Chinese born artists, Li Liang and Jie Sun.
Artist list
Li Liang, Jie Sun
Li Liang was born in Xian, lives and works in Gothenburg/Sweden and in Beijing/China.
She was educated in Sweden, first at Stenebyskolan, and then at HDK Gothenburg University, Sweden from where she got her Master of Jewelry Art in 2014.
Jie Sun was born in Guiyang, and do now a doctoral Research Fellow (PhD), in between Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts & Copenhagen International Center for Creative (KiCK.He is educated at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and Sandberg Institute/Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
Li Liang says she has a strong impact of Chinese fine classical paintings and calligraphy. Lines has been important use for her to create forms. She says:
For me, the Chinese calligraphy gives the lines diverse visual possible and spiritual power. This power has been leading my artistic expression, building imagination: A line seems the print-tail when aircraft flying through the sky; A line is the crack on ice glacier; A line is a piece of Sunset light upon the horizon...... Line has stimulated me to discover the sequence and express the emotion from the reality.
Jie Sun actively engages in both European and Asian design culture, as designer/artist, researcher and curator. He says:
Culture has always an important position in my work, either eastern or western. I am obsessed with historic and cultural ideas and form, and tend to translate them into my objects that are meant for similar understanding in a new way. By adjusting and reusing recognizable contemporary objects and shapes, new objects, concepts, sculptures and artifacts are brought into existence. Since 2012 to early of 2014, I have created a number of extensive series that investigates the relationship of the Chinese traditional philosophy and traditional crafts with a process of making. The work seeks ways in which traditional culture can be utilized as a source of artistic inspiration for contemporary jewellery.
