Intro
The exhbited works are a result of a wish to investigate the relation between an object and the human body, to catch a deeper understanding in what is happening in the meeting between the two.

Artist list

Lena Olson
Lena Olson has been working as an independent artist in the jewelry field since her graduation from HDK School of Design and Crafts, Gothenburg in 1996. Her work can be recognized in her typical skilled way of using wood as the main material.

The series Close to Me is a result of a wish to investigate the relation between an object and the human body, to catch a deeper understanding in what is happening in the meeting between the two, and what the choice of material, form and format means for the entirety. She has also been interested in the phenomenon of wearing.

- The forms are all of my own invention. They are stories hiding in my mind waiting to be told, and the inspiration is sprung from the things close to me and my surroundings. In my daily walks I collect impacts from whatever might catch my attention, as all the things growing around, rocks and cliffs, traces and paths. Although I also believe that the main reasons for the outdoor activities in the first place like walking my dog, riding my horse and satisfy my own body’s wish to be in some kind of use, is just as big input in making jewelry forms.
