Drag and Drop is an ongoing project masterminded by three artists based in France: Isabelle Busnel, Sébastien Carré, Juan Riusech, and is born out of a desire to explore their respective and very diverse creative universes.
Artist list
Isabelle Busnel, Sébastien Carré, Juan Riusech
The first edition started with each artist choosing one of their typical artwork and the 2 other ones trying to visually recreate the reference jewellery piece with their own materials and techniques. In a second step, each one choose a few keywords to describe the piece and they offered a personal and conceptual interpretation of the work based on those specific words.
In the second edition, they each selected a historical piece of jewellery they liked and without showing them, they wrote a statement describing the work emotionally. It is up to the others to imagine and create those historical pieces with the descriptions.
Then they revealed their chosen piece of jewellery to the others and the last step was to make a visual interpretation of all the original works with their usual materials and styles.
This joyful adventure allows them to get out of their comfort zone, to get to know each other better and above all to realise how personal and difficult it is to imitate someone else’s work with a different kind of material and techniques. But sometimes magic operates and they end up finding new ideas or new ways of working with what they are familiar with.
In the exhibition, there is also a selection of each artists individual work.
Opening: Saturday 14th of September 12.00 - 16.00 h.
