For this spring's first exhibition in the gallery, we have the pleasure of showing Gustaf Lindblom's brooches that he has been working on since he graduated from Konstfack 2017. The body of work can be seen as portable subtle statement pieces.

Gustaf Lindblom
It has been important to me that the pieces work unisex, says Gustaf Lindblom about his brooches, and mean it is up to each and everyone how, where and when they are to be worn, at different angles and on different types of garments, such as jewelry or bodily sculpture. Placed tightly against the body, the brooches grow both inward and outward, detail becomes a whole and the whole a detail to relate to.
The inspiration comes from the police and guards' walkie-talkies that are carried high up at the clavicle. The fact that people in uniforms wear brooches is not seen as a matter of course, but in an interesting way, the work challenges common notions of the function of accessories. Like square cubes with clean lines, made of unexpected materials such as fish skins and glitter, they balance between feminine and masculine.
At PLATINA you find a broad range of high-quality art jewellery. During the years we have been working internationally with artists and clients from all over the world and we have been working outside the gallery as well, with exhibitions, popup events, fairs, experimental projects, lectures, education, seminars and more.
