Athens Jewelry Week is a festival. It is an institution that creates the space where artists and audiences from the Contemporary Jewelry field can meet and exchange ideas, network and develop future collaborations. The works exhibited during AJW, are not only art pieces that express states of being, provoke discussions and comment on current sociological structures and tendencies, but are also a means to an end. The strong connections that are formed between individuals and groups coming from different cultures, support AJW and become the source for new and progressively, more impactful actions.
The organization that was born in 2016 has evolved. This 5th upcoming edition is now open to every active member of the Contemporary Jewelry scene. We invite you to join us and contribute to our creative plans for new approaches, probabilities, and proposals that will enhance the emerging artistic attempts in our field.
In the framework of the 5th edition of Athens Jewelry Week, the organization shifts its focus to an issue that considers being of utmost importance: Minorities and vulnerable groups, regardless of religion, nationality, gender or age, who need support, not only to deal with discrimination, racism and all forms of violence directed at them, but also to heal their wounds, claim their inalienable rights, and move forward with a creative remodeling of their lives.
Athens Jewelry Week is organised by Anticlastics.
A non-profit entity aiming, through collective action, to promote Contemporary Jewelry in Greece and abroad, enhancing awareness and exchange of views.
The Anticlastics team is formed by Erato Kouloubi and Niki Stylianou. Both are active in the Contemporary Jewelry scene and follow parallel paths. Their work covers a wide range of areas in the field of creative expression: from research and design to making and teaching.
