Established in 2018 by Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber, two Geneva dealers in jewels and precious stones, GemGenève is designed and devised by exhibitors. The show, unprecedented in the sector, is open to the public and brings together a remarkable community, including dealers in precious stones, diamonds, pearls and jewellery, gemological laboratories, manufacturers, specialist bookshops, experts and historians. GemGenève was born out of a market need, serving a hitherto unexploited opportunity that has come to define its success.
The eighth edition of the show for precious stone and jewellery professionals and enthusiasts will be opening its doors from Thursday 9 May to Sunday 12 May at Palexpo. The exhibitor space is already fully booked, with over 180 carefully selected exhibitors signed up. The highly anticipated exhibition will coincide with another landmark event, the Geneva Luxury Week and its spring auctions.
Ever true to its exclusive recipe – a trade fair created by exhibitors open to the general public – GemGenève showcases a diverse range of gems and jewels and offers a unique platform dedicated to the world of exceptional diamonds, precious stones, pearls, and antique and contemporary jewellery. The show also features prestigious designers and emerging talents, and boasts the participation of famous schools and the young designers of tomorrow.
Over and above its role as a tradeshow, the event is placing an increasing emphasis on culture, young people, training, and passing on knowledge. GemGenève is constantly seeking new opportunities and projects to showcase. With Director Mathieu Dekeukelaire at the helm, the organisers are especially keen for each new edition to feature a cultural programme of the highest quality and encourage the emergence of new vocations among younger generations.
The show, unprecedented in its kind, offers visitors an opportunity to discover exceptional jewels – to touch them, feel them and be dazzled by the beauty and perfection radiating from every piece. It also gives visitors the chance to compare, get in touch with highly qualified professionals for customized advice and make a fully-informed, spontaneous purchase on the spot, if the right piece is there at the right time! Now more than ever, the world needs to reconnect with essential values.
While the colours for the campaign in November 2023 were winter hues, the spring edition will take on new tones characteristic of the summer season. The forthcoming edition will be accompanied by a new exhibition decor from talented designers of the agency Autre Idée, transforming Palexpo Hall 1 with a theme of ‘Journeys and Movements’. As ever, the key concepts are elegance and a seamless visitor experience.
