Established in 2018 by Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber, two Geneva dealers in jewels and precious stones, GemGenève is designed and devised by exhibitors. The show, unprecedented in the sector, is open to the public and brings together a remarkable community, including dealers in precious stones, diamonds, pearls and jewellery, gemological laboratories, manufacturers, specialist bookshops, experts and historians. GemGenève was born out of a market need, serving a hitherto unexploited opportunity that has come to define its success.
Representing centuries of tradition and driven by an open-minded spirit, GemGenève is a trade show organised by industry insiders who understand the needs of their exhibitors and aims to be a hub of creativity and innovation. The dynamic GemGenève Team was founded to promote creativity, to support talent and to foster the lively exchange of knowledge and ideas throughout the gem and jewellery community.
GemGenève is the go-to event for lovers of precious stones, jewel collectors and jewellery industry professionals. The friendly show with an intimate feel brings together all the players in the industry – including leading international dealers - in Geneva for a cross-cutting event now recognised as a meeting-place for enthusiasts and experts from all over the world.
GemGenève also offers a vibrant overview of work by younger artists, serving as a valuable springboard for emerging designers and other talents of the future. Open to connoisseurs and the general public alike, GemGenève invites everyone to celebrate jewellery arts and crafts and strives to pass on rare knowhow through an intense programme of cultural activities: original thematic exhibitions presenting museum-quality pieces, talks, temporary bookshops and arts & crafts workshops. Every year, leading jewellery houses, institutions and museums partner with the event to display historic items and masterworks of high jewellery.
