AGC was founded in Trieste in June 2004 by a group of professionals to create new opportunities for the development and qualification of contemporary jewellery, aiming to promote a constructive and synergistic dialogue with the artistic and productive scenes on an international level. AGC encourages and supports all initiatives aimed at the exchange of information, experimentation, training, and establishing of connections among the members, both online through the community and in practice through work groups that freely get together to carry out projects, produce documents and develop specific themes. AGC acts according to ethics that respect the individual and the environment, following a conceptual methodology dedicated to the improvement of the quality through the collation and study of results.
AGC, Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo, is a non-profit organization that was created to develop and promote the art of contemporary jewellery meant as:
• Artistic research.
• Renewal of the concept of ornament.
• Experimenting with new materials and technologies.
• Protection, study and updating of historical heritage made up of know-how and abilities.
President: Eliana Negroni.
Vice-preseident: Roberta Bernabei.

Progetto Fondazione Cominelli Award
The Cominelli Foundation Award for Contemporary Jewelry was born with the aim of creating greater recognition and appreciation for contemporary art jewelry. The Cominelli Foundation has made it possible to realize a project that combines together the Foundation’s desire to act as an important representative within certain sectors of the applied arts and the goal of AGC, Contemporary Jewelery Association, to promote and spread the knowledge of art jewelry. The first edition of the Award 2010 was part of a larger project, which led to the display of a Permanent Collection of Contemporary Jewelry at the Cominelli Foundation. This is one of the newest proposals in the Italian context, and it demonstrates the willingness to undertake a path which is culturally challenging, but also effective in establishing positive synergies in order to expand the knowledge of Italian contemporary jewelry and its role within an international context. Similarities and differences within this dialogue can stimulate the interest even of a non-specialist audience. The Cominelli Foundation has also opened the participation to International students from public and private schools with addresses in jewelry arts, contemporary jewelry and design. A section of the Cominelli Foundation Project for contemporary jewelry is dedicated to teaching in national and international public and private schools. The aim is to present and compare the different training programs within the field of jewelry art, as well as the different orientations, from design to arts and crafts training, in order to highlight the peculiarities of each reality.
