As a major international event, Parcours Bijoux presents artists and researchers from numerous countries, for festival showcasing exhibitions, performances, and conferences in Paris. In a vast panorama, galleries, museums, institutions and public spaces will display multifaceted creativity that places jewellery simultaneously in a social, anthropological and aesthetic context, at the very heart of the interdisciplinarity so typical of today’s art world.
This jewellery stands for an open and generous approach to an organic practice nurtured by a huge diversity of works and techniques. It's a complex world in itself, lying somewhere between contemporary art, craftsmanship, fashion, applied art and design, without disowning its family-at-large: adornment, nor its topics: the object and the body. And the avant-garde sometimes even frees itself of both these aspects and of materials and techniques as well.
Each time, private and institutional partners have elected to support this multiple and multifaceted event. In effect, these distinguished endorsements have perpetuated the event, and will durably inscribe contemporary jewellery in the cultural landscape.
Parcours Bijoux aims:
Parcours Bijoux is organized by the association D’un bijou à l’autre. Created in 2011, D’un bijou à l’autre is an association of professionals in the contemporary jewellery field as well as artists from other areas. In order to highlight contemporary jewellery within the jewellery scene, the association launches in 2011 their first international call for entries to their first edition organized in 2013. Motivated by the success of this first edition, D'un bijou à l'autre organizes the second edition of Parcours Bijoux in 2017, and the third to take place in October 2020.
This major project has been dreamt about, carried, and organized by the association volunteer members, and has been made possible thanks to the energy, the high spirits, and the commitment of each one.
Confident of the stimulating potential of the Parcours Bijoux Festival within the jewellery field, the association has built a network of professionals whose collaboration allows this event to come to life.
