Intro
Craft Abroad provides travel adventures organized around craft and art workshops. Born out of a passion for learning, Craft Abroad brings travelers into the studios of master craftspeople and artisans to learn traditional craft techniques in multi-day workshops.
Our workshops create avenues for cross-cultural education experiences that prioritize community engagement, cultural preservation, and global connections.

The upcoming series of workshops in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a UNESCO Creative City well-known for its craftsmanship and folk arts, will focus on filigree, metal-forming, chasing, and repoussé.

This group of specialized workshops provides the opportunity to learn from skilled traditional craftspeople in their home studios and Buddhist temples located in Thailand’s picturesque north. Thai craftspeople have perfected the art of silversmithing and metalwork over numerous generations, and our program connects participants with living masters while exploring the history and heritage of these culturally and religiously important practices.
Throughout the workshops participants will learn about the history of Buddhist craft in Thailand while eating local food, touring the city, and taking advantage of everything Chiang Mai has to offer.

Opening dates: Summer workshop July 21-July 30, 2024.
