Intro
On May 16–17, 2026, the Lapidarium of the National Museum of Romanian History will host the 23rd edition of AUTOR, the longest-running international contemporary jewelry fair in Southeast Europe. For two days, over 70 designers from Europe and around the world will present collections that express something about themselves, about materials, and about the ideas that ultimately become wearable.
AUTOR is not just a place to buy jewelry, it’s a place to encounter it, feel it, admire it, and decide to make it your own. There is an important difference: every piece on display has gone through a rigorous selection process conducted by an international jury, and every participating designer presents a collection built around a clear concept, not a product catalogue.

Over 17 years and 22 previous editions, AUTOR has brought together more than 1,900 selected designers and an audience that understands why it chooses what it wears. Thousands of pieces have traveled from artists’ studios around the world directly to the people who connected with them, chose them, and wear them as a conscious gesture.

The 2026 Edition: Contemporary Jewelry in Dialogue with History
The choice of venue is no coincidence. The Lapidarium of the National Museum of Romanian History places AUTOR in close proximity to the country’s historical jewelry heritage, creating a rare context in which contemporary pieces enter into dialogue with memory and with what jewelry has meant over time, as gesture, identity, and language.

Jewelry is the meeting point between body and idea, says Dan Pierșinaru, founder of AUTOR. This perspective shapes the selection of each edition, and even more so that of 2026.

Each AUTOR edition highlights an artist with a distinct voice. In 2026, visitors will discover Victor Pavlov, a Bulgarian artist whose work explores the relationship between nature, technology, and form. His practice combines traditional metalworking techniques with contemporary digital technologies, resulting in pieces with strong emotional and social resonance, jewelry that goes far beyond the conventional meaning of the term.
