Intro
Platina celebrates its 15th anniversary and to commemorate the gallery gathers in an exhibition 17 jewellery artists that have worked with Platina over the years. Since 1999 Platina searches to provoke and impress through jewellery, showing along the years the new ideas in the field.

Artist list

A5 (Romina Funtes, Adam Grinovich, Annika Pettersson), Tobias Alm, Yasar Aydin, Sofia Björkman, Hilde De Decker, Jenny Edlund, Iris Eichenberg, Karl Fritsch, Hanna Hedman, Aud Charlotte Ho Sook Sinding, Catarina Hällzon, Agnieszka Knap, Karen Pontoppidan, Miro Sazdic, Lisa Walker
Since the beginning of 1999 Platina has been on a mission to delight and provoke through the art of jewellery exhibiting wearable and unwearable pieces that convey ideas about what jewellery is -- chattering jewellery that tells truths and untruths, gorgeous jewellery that is fascinating and unsettling, protesting, storytelling, and enchanting jewellery.  Every single piece is chosen for its superior quality.

This year, 2014, Platina is celebrating its 15th anniversary. In September there will be an exhibition at Färgfabriken in Stockholm, with works from 17 artists that Platina has worked with over the years.

Färgfabriken is an exhibition space and experimental platform for art and architecture as well as social and urban development. They seek to challenge, engage and create new connections and collabo-rations. Färgfabriken is a site to visit exhibitions, take part of discussions, workshops and attend talks.

Platina is situated at Odengatan 68 in Stockholm. The interior was designed by the Swedish architect group OUR, which was awarded the prize for best interior design for its work on Platina by the Swedish design magazine "Forum" in 2001. 12 years later in 2013, Sofia Björkman, Platina's owner, was awarded by the organisation Svensk Form for her work with Platina. Platina was founded by Sofia Björkman, Åsa Skogberg and Marie-Helen Bornhall and owned by Sofia Björkman since 2009. Platina has shown works from many diverse artists in almost 150 exhibitions and has been working outside the gallery as well with other exhibitions, popup events, experimental projects, workshops, lectures, education and seminars. During the exhibition, there will be a release of a catalog. It would take volumes to publish documentation of everything Platina has done, so for this, a selection are chosen from exhibitions 1999-2014.
