Hot international known Swedish jewellery artists exhibit in Stockholm
In the exhibition "There is no place like home" at Gallery Platina in Stockholm you are given the chance to see works by 20 of the most internationally known jewellery artists from Sweden.
If you want to understand the time we live in, we suggest you to have a close look at human attributes. What do people wear and decorate themselves with or what would jewellery artist want us to wear?
Contemporary jewellery tells who we are or who we want to be. In the exhibition”There is no place like home" you will find advanced technical solutions, odd materials, beauty and historical references: Anna Atterling has developed her own technique that provides unique seductive jewellery. Pia Aleborg is often focusing on daily life and has created oversized chains of plywood. Sara Borgegård has produced architectural jewels for which the body forms its landscape and Charlotte Sinding's necklaces of still life allude to the forbidden fruit. Other participating jewellery artists show works speaking about body and identity as Jenny Edlund and Auli Laitinen.
Among the works we also find jewellery made of material stretched to the unrecognizable such as Rut-Malin Barklund's necklaces of black paper and Agnes Larsson’s sculptural jewellery of iron powder and pigments.
