Preziosa is a cultural project, an annual exhibition dedicated to Contemporary Jewellery.

Every year the artistic approach to the complex subject of jewellery is explored through a specific concept and with the selection of artists from the international scene.
The project, imagined, managed and coordinated by LAO, Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School in Florence, started in 2005, and has quickly become one of the worldwide most important events devoted to contemporary jewellery.

Preziosa can be considered as an explorative path always in motion.
The Aims:
Connecting worlds - Artistic research, cultural identity, new technologies. New competencies, new skills. The role of innovative technologies in contemporary crafts. Wisdom and patience in traditional jewellery. Ethical jewellery. Sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste: the jewellery senses.

The program is already well under way and includes like every year many exhibitions, conferences, meetings, workshops, and of course some moments of socialization, concerts and a few glasses of good wine.
Artists who have confirmed their participation to FIRENZE PREZIOSA 2020:
Giovanni Corvaja, Carla Riccoboni, Kazumi Nagano, Suk Chun Oh, Sam Tho Duong, Cóilín Ó Dubhghaill.
Collections and Collectors:
The Art historians Maria Cristina Bergesio and Roberta Bernabei present a selection of jewels from two of the most important European contemporary jewellery collections: the Pilar Garrigosa collection and the Paul Derrez collection.
Crafts from another World:
The nuns of the Orthodox monastery in Tbilisi, Georgia, will be in Florence to show their creations and give demonstrations of work.
Preziosa Young 2020:

Exhibition of the artists selected for the international competition reserved to artists, goldsmiths, and designers within the age of 35.
.... and much more! Other artists and curatorial exhibitions will be gradually included in the program: stay tuned.
