After six editions of the international competition, dedicated to contemporary jewellery inspired by the Mediterranean themes and the culture of wine, an exhibition of the Master Collection of Gioielli in Fermento will open in May 2017  with new works and iconic pieces related to this project.
The exhibition is only for artists who already took part in previous editions of GIF.
The world of jewellery and the world of wine, go together: a declared combination, awarded last December by the Guide of Italian wine Cellars with special recognition to the relevance of this cultural project around wine.
The project, grown over the years as a catalyst of contemporary jewellery experiences at European level and recently presented as a special exhibit at SOFA Chicago and New York, will take place with a two-years program that will alternate the presentation of Master Collection (2017) and the new edition of the contest (2018).
The 2017  exhibition is dedicated to artists selected from all the past editions. Artists who already worked for Gioielli in Fermento are invited to submit a new piece made in dialogue or in evolution with their own previous work made for the competition.
This exhibit will be called “Gioielli in Fermento - Master Collection” (first 2 weeks in May 2017) and will be held alternating the year of the competition.
Next competition will be in May 2018 - it will be announced exactly 12 months earlier, during the Master Collection exhibition opening - addressed to all designers, emerging and established artists and students from academies and institutes of art and design, international faculties and schools of applied arts, jewellery and metalsmithing.
The Master Collection, consisting of both new pieces and a selection of the more representative Gioielli in Fermento pieces, will be curated by Eliana Negroni. A new catalogue for a critical acknowledgement of the evolution of the project will be published.
Although there is not a specific theme, artists are involved in a project which already hosted a particular aspect of their recent pieces of work. The aim is to display new works to be read as an evolution of each selected artist's research inspired by GIF past editions.

- The exhibition is only for artists who already took part in previous editions of GIF - a new work is required, which can be put in a dialogue and/or evolution with your previous works selected for Gioielli in Fermento: “historical” together with new unreleased works will shape the exhibition.

- Exhibition will open on next May 7, 2017 at  Torre Fornello, Italy  -  till May 17th.

- Works will be available on sale (except for the already owned in private collections).

- A catalogue publishing the GIF-Master Collection will be presented during the exhibition. It will content critical texts. You will be contacted directly for any updating information to be published.

- DEADLINE to submit the work (pictures with caption and a short description): March 13.
(no printed publishing information guaranteed after this date).

- DEADLINE to send the new work: April 9.

- No fee is requested, except for the shipment costs or customized insurance coverage. We’ll hope You will promote and possibly buy and share one or more copies of the new catalogue (Isbn coded).

Concerning Gioielli in Fermento the new edition for 2018 is on its way and the announcement will be presented within the event next May 7th 2017.
