Open Call for submissions to the exhibition Turning Point, as part of Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2025

Above all, the exhibition values originality of concept, the strength of the message, and the authenticity of artistic expression. We seek works that transcend purely aesthetic boundaries, becoming signs and traces of revolution — whether internal or collective. Works that not only adorn but also signify transformation — bearing witness to inner or societal revolutions. Because every turning point marks the beginning of a new path.

We welcome artists at all levels of experience, from students to seasoned professionals. There are no restrictions on materials or techniques used. Submitted works should qualify as jewellery in the broadest sense of the term, represent a high artistic and technical standard, and present an original creative concept connected to the exhibition theme. The selection of works will be made by internationally renowned visual artist and jewellery designer Ruudt Peters (Amsterdam, Netherlands).

Submissions are open until August 3, 2025.
Selected works will be featured in the exhibition and in the catalogue.

Participation Conditions

• Up to three works may be submitted for the exhibition.
• There are no limitations regarding materials, techniques, dimensions, or forms of the submitted works. However, they should represent a high artistic and technical standard and include an original creative concept with a clear reference to the competition theme.
• Works must be submitted in the form of photographs (JPG or PDF files at 300 dpi resolution).

Deadlines

• September 4–6, 2025 — Gdańsk Jewellery Week main event

Gdańsk Jewellery Week is a new festival dedicated to artistic jewellery and contemporary design. In a city with a centuries-old amber tradition, the first week of September will feature meetings with artists and designers, shows, workshops, and the unique atmosphere of Gdańsk — a city where tradition meets modernity.

The GDAŃSK JEWELLERY WEEK festival will be held alongside the International Amber and Jewellery Fair, AMBERIF AUTUMN 2025, which will take place from September 4 to 6, 2025, at the Amberexpo fairgrounds. As always, these fairs will be open to the public.
