DEADLINE: 13/11/2026

Some pieces stir something beyond the desire to simply look at them. We want to get closer, touch them, feel their weight, try them on, or simply keep them nearby. Objects that, for reasons difficult to explain, seem to claim a place in our intimate lives. Taking jewellery as a starting point for artistic exploration, this exhibition explores the particular attraction certain objects hold for us, and the relationships of desire, contact and attachment we form with them.
The exhibition brings together different approaches to these relationships, from jewellery and objects designed for the body to textile works and small sculptures. Brispba is interested in works that explore the emotional and symbolic value of objects, their ability to awaken desire, evoke memories or create intimate connections with those who own or contemplate them.
The exhibition asks what makes an object become more than something we simply look at, and come to occupy a place in our intimate lives.
Conditions:
The open call is aimed at artists and creators residing in European Union countries.
We welcome proposals related to:
- Contemporary and experimental jewellery.
- Wearable objects and body sculptures.
- Experimental accessories and textile pieces conceived as artistic practices.
- Small-scale objects exploring the relationships between the body, touch, desire and adornment.
Participation is free of charge.
Each artist may submit up to five existing and completed works related to the exhibition concept.
Works may be wearable or non-wearable. Applications must include contact details, a short biography, high-resolution photographs of the proposed works, technical information, a brief description of their relationship to the exhibition concept and selling prices in euros.
Selected artists will be notified on 19 November 2026. Brispa Gallery will arrange and cover shipping costs to and from the gallery. Artists are responsible for adequately packaging their works at their own expense.
The exhibition will open on 19 December 2026 at Brispa Gallery in Madrid and will run until mid January 2027.
Works will be available for sale during the exhibition, with a 50% gallery commission.
Full conditions and application requirements are available in the open call PDF.
The exhibition will bring together artists selected through the open call alongside artists who already collaborate with Brispa Gallery. There is no predetermined number of selected artists. Selection will be based on artistic quality, originality, relevance to the exhibition concept and available gallery space.
For any enquiries, please contact info@brispagallery.com.
