Intro
In 2027, Precious.Collective has been on this planet for 10 years. We are very excited about this fact, and what better way to celebrate than at Munich Jewellery Week!
Exhibition dates: 10th to 13th March 2027.

Exhibition theme:
Our Munich exhibition celebrates the founding spirit of the collective and is rooted in the core beliefs that continue to guide us:
1. Strange materials mixed with strange minds fuse into joyous, imaginative work expressing individual ideas of what precious could mean.
2. The enduring ‘norm’ of gold & diamonds is challenged by this group's witty interpretation of body adornment, process & materials.
3. If precious means ‘of high cost or worth: not to be treated carelessly ’, then the Precious Collective is where these concepts are questioned - it is where the idiosyncratic, irregular ideas live; where to encounter the unexpected.

Exciting guests & prizes:
As it is a very special birthday year we have invited the following very wonderful and exciting guests to be part of the fun:
Jennifer Altmann, Dan Pierșinaru, Laura González, Juan Harnie.

They have each agreed to award a prize to works in the exhibition. There will also be a public vote for ‘favourite in show’.

All winners will receive extra social media coverage plus a free exhibition space in a future Precious Collective exhibition of their choice. In addition, the artist selected by Juan Harnie will receive a special ‘J is for jewellery Award’, offering the opportunity to be represented on their online gallery for one year and to participate in potential upcoming exhibitions. Finally, as a Precious.Collective birthday present, all exhibitors will receive a free exhibition catalogue.

How to apply?
The application is simple, and you are invited to apply with up to 3 pieces of work that you have made in the last 10 years, but they must never have been exhibited with us previously.

Steps:
1. Go to our Munich Jewellery application website page: https://www.preciouscollective.com/mjw-application.html
2. Download the application PDF
3. Follow all guidelines exactly as written and submit your application by the 1st of January next year.

Key dates:
Application deadline: January 1st 2027 midnight GMT.
Notification of selection: early January 2027.

Posting and selling of work:
We are working hard to find a way for exhibitors to ship their work to someone in Europe. However, if this does not happen, then selected artists must be prepared to post their work to Lynne in the UK by the 1st of February 2027.
It is also possible to deliver work by hand whilst we are setting up the exhibition.

No commission will be taken for any sale of work, and it is an individual's preference as to whether work is listed for sale or not.
Full details can be found in the application pdf

Fees:
Precious relies on a lot of goodwill from those who run the organisation, all of whom do not take a wage. Unfortunately, fees are non-refundable as they cover all costs for the exhibition plus other basic running costs of the
collective.

Application fee:
€20 / PayPal €25
or
£18 / PayPal £23
Your application will not be accepted if your fee has not cleared in Lynne's bank account by the application deadline. Please make sure you pay any fees a couple of days before so that your application can be processed.

Exhibition fee if selected:
€70 / Paypal €75
or
£60 / Paypal £65.
We look forward to receiving your applications. Any questions about this open call should be made through our website via the dedicated MJW application email address.
