We will cover traditional techniques such as cloisonné and plique-à-jour as well as experimenting with enamel as material surface.
As to the advanced students, they will work with Color and Culture. Develop a personal palette.  Each advanced student would select a scheme of colours, we would work on a field of colours and then they would work with them as a basis for a body of work.

When: November 25-29 Workshop, 8  hours a day, total of 40 hours.

About the teacher:
Jamie Bennett, an American artist born in 1948, Head of Department and SUNY New Paltz from 1985 to 2014. He has experimented during his career with antique enameling processes, discovering new techniques and creating new colors and matt surfaces. Know as “the most complete enameling artist of our time” refer by ex-curator and historian Ursula Ilse-Neuman of the New York Museum of Art and Design. Had received many awards and honors, and his work has been known by his innovative use of color and the deep relationship between material and process. Has participated in many solo and collective exhibitions around the world, causing a great influence in contemporary jewelry.
